Found a new way to combat herpes
November 11, 2022
American researchers have developed T-cell receptors that can recognize and destroy cells infected with herpes. According to the study, more than half of the world’s population over 40 years old are infected with cytomegalovirus (CMV, a type of herpes). Developed TCRs create loose connections with diseased cells. With the help of genetic engineering, scientists accidentally managed to find a way to fix these connections, which allows them to cure infected particles.
