New molecules return lost memory

Scientists do not hide the fact that a truly effective medicine for memory loss does not yet exist. However, it may seem that there is no movement at all in this area, but this is already wrong. Decades of development have brought many fruits in the form of compounds with high efficiency for the activation of damaged brain receptors.

Moving along this path “forward and in depth”, researchers from the Center for Addictions and Mental Health in Toronto (Canada) created new therapeutic molecules that still promise to reverse the memory loss associated with stress and aging. These molecules not only quickly improve symptoms, but, remarkably, restore the main brain disorders that occur in the GABA neurotransmitter system. Therapeutic molecules are a chemical modification of benzodiazepines – anti-anxiety and sedative drugs, which also activate the GABA system, but not so purposefully.
