What is emotional intelligence and why it is needed?

Previously it was believed that success depends on mental intelligence (IQ), but recent studies increasingly prove the opposite. It turns out that success depends a bit on a different parameter — emotional intelligence (EQ). The effectiveness of interaction with people around you is highly dependent on how strongly your emotional intelligence is developed. In short, the EQ is:
